A sharing economy platform like Uber, AirBnB, and SnapGoods, Helbiz is a blockchain-based platform that allows users to rent out their private vehicles. 4. Car eWallet

Developed by ZF in cooperation with UBS and IBM, Car e-Wallet is a decentralized smart contract-based technological transaction platform that facilitates a full end-to-end integration of mobility services, vehicles, and infrastructure, allowing cars to become business entities on their own paying by themselves for services such as parking. This amazing project has already gained popularity and has many use cases, so we believe its success will continue.

5. MOBI – The Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative

Founded by automotive giants including Renault, GM, Ford, and BMW, MOBI is a new consortium for blockchain innovation in the mobility industry. MOBI’s members already include the biggest blockchain and technology startups and organizations like IBM, Accenture, and ConsenSys, and more. MOBI’s first project is a vehicle digital identity prototype or car passport that would be able to track and secure a vehicle’s odometer and relevant information on distributed ledgers. 6. VINChain (VIN)

A member of MOBI (among other associations), VINChain is working on creating a worldwide decentralized transparent database of vehicle information that cannot be changed or deleted. 7. EY Tesseract

A brainchild of Ernst & Young Global Limited, EY Tesseract is a blockchain-based platform designed to support new mobility businesses built around fractional ownership of vehicles, multimodal transportation integration, and new investment models. Hosting single vehicles, fleets, and other transport services, this platform digitally logs them on the blockchain, automatically settling transactions between owners, operators, and third-party service providers through a single-source, usage-based payment system.

Last, but not least important, HyreCar is a web-based vehicle-sharing marketplace that allows car owners to rent out their idle vehicles to ride-sharing service drivers, such as Uber and Lyft drivers. HyreCar is a working platform that has a lot of media attention and many testimonies from satisfied clients, although there are plenty of issues that they need to attend to.
