It seems that the blockchain technology is increasingly becoming the go-to method for quite a number of enterprises promising to change the world and shake up their respective industries. The entertainment industry is no different and with such a large number of projects aiming to revolutionize the field, it is difficult to choose just five of them to discuss. However, since we don’t want to overwhelm you with a long list of projects, we bring you five of them that we believe are going somewhere, in no particular order.

1. Ephelants360 (XEP)

Ephelants360 is a new decentralized project that facilitates faster content creation, accompanied by a higher quality production. Its goal? Democratizing film and TV production. A fully rounded ecosystem, Ephelants360 offers all the tools for results-driven content creation, investment, production, and distribution, all with a little help from artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. Unlike the traditional model, Ephelants 360 offers investors transparency and fairness through the use of the blockchain and smart tokens. With a strong team experienced in both show business and blockchain technology that has dedicated a lot of energy to developing it, this project has every chance for success.

2. MovieCoin (MOV)

MovieCoin is a next-generation financial technology company focused on improving participation in the entertainment industry. It is using blockchain technology, digital assets, and its proprietary applications to create a new standard currency for entertainment financing, business transactions, as well as consumer payments. Its goal is to become the go-to portal for entertainment investments and for its MOV token to become the main currency in a new entertainment economy that grows on digital assets and blockchain. MovieCoin covers three main business segments – content production and financing, business and consumer services, and technology development and licensing. Given how well their platform is developed and their great plans for the future, we will not be surprised if soon everyone in Hollywood starts talking about MovieCoin.

3. SingularDTV (SNGLS)

A blockchain-based film and TV entertainment studio and distribution portal accompanied by a smart contract rights management platform, SingularDTV’s plan combines several important areas: an original TV series, a documentary division, a digital rights management platform (DRM), and a video-on-demand portal. In the words of its own team, “by building the future of rights management, project funding, and peer-to-peer distribution, SingularDTV’s platform empowers artists and creators with powerful tools to manage projects from development to distribution.” It has been around for quite some time, with its ICO dating back to 2016. In late 2017, it launched Tokit, a project creation, funding, and rights administration application, which focuses on project development. In addition to creating a project on Tokit, users can start growing their followers base to help their cause. They plan on launching their multi-media digital distribution portal any time soon and we can hardly wait to see it.

4. Lino (LINO)

Attracting quite a bit of attention after raising a staggering $20 million USD in a private token sale at the beginning of 2018, the California-based start-up Lino is building a blockchain-powered video distribution network with an aim to eliminate the middleman from the video streaming industry. This way, they want to ensure decentralization of distributing content and see to that all the earnings go directly to the video content creators themselves. On Lino, artists will use the LINO tokens to pay creators. The tokens themselves can be generated by creating work on the platform, sharing the created work, and developing infrastructure or additional applications on top of Lino. Its first DApp, called DLive, is already up and running, and you can watch and upload videos on it, so we believe this project will truly have a bright future.

Another worthy blockchain project in the field of entertainment is Slate. Launched in April 2018, Slate is a decentralized entertainment platform that promises to deliver high-speed, low-cost, and high-def videos globally, in addition to facilitating live event ticketing. The parent company of Binge Media Corporation and Slatix Solutions, Slate Entertainment Group plans to introduce BVOD, a premium blockchain video-on-demand platform, SLATIX, a mobile electronic ticketing application with a trustworthy incentivized review system, and SLATE (SLX), a digital utility token. SLATE Wallet is already available for download and use. We trust they will do their best to fully develop their ecosystem and are looking forward to testing it out.
