Justin Sun, the CEO of Tron and BitTorrent recently hinted that they could collaborate with Ethereum developers in an attempt to make the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry better. This comes at a time when the Sun Network is getting ready for its expansion slated for next month.


Tron Could Partner Ethereum This Year

Justin Sun, during an interview with The Crypto Chick podcast on April 6th revealed that Tron could officially collaborate with Ethereum this year. He made this statement while responding to a tweet by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, with Sun stating that the partnership between the two smart contract platforms would be for the good of the industry.

He stated that Tron could officially partner with lots of Ethereum developers this year and also some of the enterprises built on the Ethereum network. Tron alongside EOS has provided competition for Ethereum as the race for the dominant dApp platform gets tougher.


Tron’s USDT Stablecoin To Launch Today, April 9th, 2019

The Tron exec further revealed that the Tron version of the USDT token is set to go live today, April 9, 2019. Tron and Tether earlier agreed that a version of the USDT token would be launched on the Tron network with the aim of making the stablecoin faster, more reliable, and cheaper for cryptocurrency users.

Sun explained that USDT shares the same blockchain as Bitcoin and for that reason, the transaction rate for the stablecoin is slow and expensive. However, by launching a Tron-based USDT token, it would be faster, and more comfortable for crypto enthusiasts to use the stablecoin. Sun believes that the Tron community and the entire crypto ecosystem would benefit from the Tron-USDT partnership and its move away from Bitcoin.


Sun Network Expansion To Launch Next Month

According to a press release by Tron, the SUN Network testnet is expected to go live by next month. The publication revealed that the network expansion is expected to decentralized application (DApp) sidechains and enable cross-chain infrastructure on other expansion projects.

Tron is confident that the SUN Network would increase the overall capacity of the blockchain, improve the transaction speed per second, and boost the smart contract executive efficiency. The post also discussed DAppChain, the network’s dApp sidechain expansion that could increase the current capacity of the dApps on the blockchain.


BitTorrent’s Social Media App To Go Live in The Second Quarter of 2019

BitTorrent, the P2P software company owned by Tron announced that the public beta version of its social media app would be launched in the second quarter of the year. The decentralized app called BitTorrent Live would be similar to popular social platforms like Snapchat and TikTok.

BitTorrent Live would enable its users to develop live content and connect with people all over the world via their mobile phones. It would also allow the users to live stream from anywhere as long as they have internet connection while viewers could give instant feedback and likes to a live stream.


Sun Donates $1.5 Million to Jack Ma’s University

Justin Sun has reportedly given $1.5 million to Hupan University earlier this month. The university was established by Jack Ma, the co-founder of Chinese multinational company, Alibaba.

Sun graduated from the school late last month, and the donation is expected to support the next batch of students, especially those in the internet space. The Tron CEO credited the University for the creation of his company as he believes that without the university education, he wouldn’t have had the entrepreneurship mindset he currently has.
