What is Monarch (MT/MTS)?

A fiat-to-crypto exchange, Monarch pairs a CMS (Content Management System) merchant plugin for online retailers with an easy-to-use wallet for consumers that allows recurring payments for monthly bills with tokens backed by silver.

Here’s the complete list of their products:

  • Mobile App
  • Desktop App
  • Hot/Cold Wallet
  • Merchant Plugin
  • Exchange
  • Password Vault
  • Portfolio Tracker and News
  • Proprietary Blockchain

For more information, check out their whitepaper or download their wallet.

At the moment, merchants have no easy-to-use methods to integrate a plug-and-play option for accepting cryptocurrency, especially not for cryptocurrency subscription payments. The current cryptocurrency payments lack strong functionality, intuitive user experience, and an interface that facilitates subscription payments. Both consumers and merchants are struggling with the core problem of cryptocurrency being a “push technology” (every transaction must be made manually) and service usability of cryptocurrencies.

Monarch aims to provide a suitable payment gateway solutions for merchants, which will be optimized to integrate cryptocurrency transactions. The Monarch Platform Plug-in will allow merchants to have a seamless functioning payment solution giving them a possibility to accept a variety of the most common cryptocurrencies available.

They aim to build a platform which will be an all-encompassing solution for accepting both fiat and digital currencies, with a specialized focus in customer management, subscription tier, and inventory management. Consumers will benefit from having their preferences saved, being offered multiple payment options, and experiencing seamless checkout. In turn, merchants will get customer logistics for easier managing of their business.

Monarch has already signed a number of meaningful partnerships, for instance with GoChain, Swarm, Sapien, and many more:

The Monarch team is also very active on their blog, so here is a couple of their more recent news:

To make it easier to see how Monarch is a better solution that most of its competition, the guys and gals at the company have created this table:

UTRUST (UTK) combines several blockchain networks into one ecosystem with an aim to simplify cryptocurrency payment and provide seamless integration for merchants to accept cryptocurrencies into their existing systems. However, UTRUST lacks the recurring payment feature, subscription management, or silver backing.

Another competitor is BitPay, a blockchain-based payment platform. However, Bitpay only accepts Bitcoin, while Monarch is an entire ecosystem. All things considered, Monarch offers a lot more than just a payment platform, as it is a much more complex system, with silver backing as one of the most interesting features.

The Monarch’s team boasts with individuals such as Sneh Bhatt, a crypto digital marketing and media agency mogul with experience in over 70 crypto projects; Robert Beadles who created numerous multi-million dollar businesses, and more.

Check out the entire team here.

Although it has a lot of competition, it seems the Monarch team is well experienced and knows what it’s doing. Given the fact that they have a seasoned team of experts with proven experience in related industries, an actual working MVP even before the token sale has ended, and a well-developed plan, there is nothing stopping them to succeed.

That said, the website is a bit scattered, so it would be a good idea to tighten things up a bit in that area. Other than that, users in some countries might end up disappointed for not being allowed to participate, because Monarch has restrictions in place for operations there.
